I am often and asked what goes into choosing the cover photo for Know Your Ships. This year's decision was easy. The J.W. Westcott Co. has been delivering mail to the freighters on the Detroit River for 150 years this year. Our cover image, by Detroit Andrew Russell, shows the J.W. Westcott II delivering mail to the CSL St-Laurent. The photo supports a feature about the Westcott operation inside the book, and it’s quite a story to be sure!
